This book focuses on the history of one of the native Gaelic septs. Originating in county Galway, members of this sept moved to neighbouring counties, especially Clare, Cork and Limerick, from the 17th century onwards, Today, peiole with variants of this name are found all over Ireland and beyond. Not a few members of the sept have achieved national, and a few international, recognition, especially in the fields of literature, engineering, medical science, mass media, sport and business. this volume explores the personal and family history of several of these remarkable people.
